Certificate of Recognition National Ground Water Association Outstanding Project in Ground Water Supply

Early in 1997, the Board of Directors
authorized the construction of an injection and recharge well known as
well A-4R, which was fully operational by year-end 1998. All of the
water provided to the District property owners originates in
non-renewable ground water aquifers. Well A-4R pumps water out of the
underground source, and then once treated, injects the water back down
hole to be stored underground in a natural reservoir created by the
injected water. This stored, treated water is ready for delivery to
system users. This technology has the potential of tripling the life of
an aquifer thereby insuring high quality water within the District for
years to come. The well's performance is exceeding the original
expectations. Late 1998, the District received a Certificate of
Recognition from the National Ground Water Association for an
Outstanding Project in Ground Water Supply for the development of well
A-4R.
