Check Valve and Rotary Nozzle Retrofit Rebate

Metro is offering 50% up to $300 of the product cost of check valves and rotary nozzles.  Metro realizes the importance of a minimum 70% efficient irrigation system and how that efficiency is related to distribution uniformity of irrigation heads. Therefore, an audit conducted by auditor approved by Metro staff must be completed in order to receive rebate.

New technologies in irrigation systems are regularly emerging in the market, improving water distribution efficiency.  The irrigation field has grown dramatically in the last 10 to 20 years and irrigation system design has become more efficient.  Rotator nozzles are easy to install and easily replace pop-up type spray nozzles.  If a system is more than eight years old and the designer or installer is unknown, time and money will be saved by participating in this program.

Program Eligibility Requirements:

  • Metro staff must conduct an on-site inspection of project work completed and project work must be approved in order to be eligible for a rebate.
  • A complete application package must be submitted to Metro before Metro will consider applicant for receipt of rebate credit. A complete application package includes, 1) original invoices or receipts, 2) Metro’s completed application form, and 3) signed Affidavit of Lawful Presence.
  • Irrigation retrofits must be made after January 1, 2011.  Rebates will not be issued retroactively for irrigation head retrofits made prior to January 1, 2011.
  • Check valves and rotary nozzles must be installed at a residence served by Metro.
  • Residents are limited to up to one rebate per household per season. Sub-associations and commercial customers are eligible for one rebate per acre with a maximum award of $2,000.
  • Offer is good through December 31, 2011 or until funds are depleted, whichever comes first, as long as the project can be inspected.
  • Rebate credit will be issued to resident’s water bill or made payable by check.  Allow 4 to 6 weeks from the date of inspection, invoice, and rebate application form to receive a rebate credit.
  • Check valves and rotary nozzles must be installed at a residence served by Metro.
  • Offer is good through December 31, 2011, as long as the system can be audited or until funds are depleted.

Selection and installation of the product is the sole responsibility of the applicant, as is determination of the adequacy and compatibility to their irrigation existing system.  Metro assumes no responsibility for any damage that may occur to an applicant’s property as a result of participation in this rebate program.  Due to circumstances beyond its control, Metro cannot guarantee that the installation of the rotators and irrigation heads with pressure regulation and check valves will result in lower utility costs.  Metro, its consultants and their sub-consultants do not assume any liability for services performed and are not responsible for any agreements made between customers and landscape contractors.  Metro does not warrant the performance of any product listed above.  Actual water savings may vary.
