Irrigation Efficiency Analysis
If you live anywhere west of the Mississippi, you know that water rights are like gold. Castle Pines Metro District understands this challenge. Currently, our District is 100% reliant on non-renewable groundwater resources. Eighty percent of water usage in the District is through irrigation. We have a great opportunity to optimize our current irrigation systems through efficiency analysis. An optimized irrigation system can yield up to 30% savings. We project Village-wide savings of 100 million gallons per year, when fully implemented over the next few years.
The Castle Pines Metropolitan District, in collaboration with Village residents participating in the Resident Water Committee (Committee), has developed a multi-year Water Efficiency Plan – Vision 2025 – to chart a path forward that reduces our reliance on Colorado’s non-renewable groundwater.
To further this plan, the District has contracted with Irrigation Analysis, LLC, to perform irrigation efficiency analyses for the homes within the District to support water efficiency.

An Irrigation Efficiency Analysis is an evaluation of the property’s irrigation system to determine whether any improvements can be made to improve water use efficiency while maintaining the healthy and beautiful landscape that has been a hallmark of the Village since its inception.
Do I need to do anything for the Irrigation Efficiency Analysis?
Yes (but not much)! You will need to sign up for an Irrigation Efficiency Analysis (information on how to sign up is provided below). Then, all that is needed is permission for Irrigation Analysis, LLC, and its employees access to your property to assess the existing irrigation system. What happens during an Irrigation Efficiency Analysis?
Analysts from Irrigation Analysis, LLC, will start and run every working zone within your irrigation system. The analyst will collect data about the condition and efficiency of each zone. The results of the collected data will, then, be compiled into a report that will be shared with the homeowner.
What will I receive at the end of an Irrigation Efficiency Analysis?
You will receive a report with information on your existing irrigation system and with suggestions on how to use less water. These improvements may be eligible for a rebate through the CPMD Homeowner Water Efficiency Rebate Program. More information on the CPMD rebate program can be found at https://bit.ly/cpmdrebateform .
