Speed Table Construction--Beginning July 9, 2025

The Castle Pines Village Metropolitan District is moving forward with a traffic-calming initiative aimed at improving road safety and reducing speeding in key areas. Based on findings from a recent Traffic Safety Study, three speed tables will be installed in locations identified as high-risk due to the frequency of speeding.

What Are Speed Tables?

Speed tables are raised, flat-topped platforms constructed of concrete that extend across the entire width of a road. Unlike traditional speed bumps, they feature a longer incline and decline, allowing vehicles to pass over them more smoothly. This design encourages drivers to reduce speed without causing abrupt disruption to traffic flow.

Project Details

Work will begin on July 9 with the installation of two speed tables on Castle Pines Drive North near the Prato sub-association inside of Gate 3. This project is expected to take approximately one and a half weeks to complete, with a projected finish date of around July 18.

Construction Impacts

  • Advance Notice: Electronic message boards will be placed in the work areas one week before construction to provide notification to residents.
  • Lane Closures: Residents should expect one-lane traffic in the construction area.
  • Traffic Control: Automated traffic control devices with green and red lights will be in place to manage the flow of vehicles through the work zone.
  • Delays: Delays and disruptions are expected. Drivers are encouraged to plan for extra travel time and use caution when traveling through construction zones. We recommend that drivers consider using another gate during the construction period.

The District appreciates your support and cooperation as we work to make our roads safer for everyone.
