New 2MG Water Tank

The Castle Pines Village Metropolitan District is construction a new 2 million gallow water storage tank on the north side of The Village near the intersection of Country Club Drive and Northwood Lane.

The new tank will expand the District's potable water storage capacity to meet the needs of our community as we approach full build-out. It will ensure we can provide adequate fire flows, meet peak service demands, and strengthen the overall reliability and resilience of our water system. This project supports the long-term objectives outlined in the District’s Long-Range Master Water Plan.

Planning for this tank began in 2016, when water system modeling by engineering consultants first identified the need for additional storage to meet both fire flow and service requirements. In 2021, the District completed its comprehensive Water Master Plan, which reaffirmed the necessity for more capacity. To make the project possible, we secured $25 million in bond funding in 2022. Additional water system modeling completed in 2023 confirmed the size requirements for the new tank. In 2024, our engineering consultants carefully evaluated potential locations to ensure the best long-term fit for the system and the community.

Construction is expected to begin in September 2025, with substantial completion planned for summer 2026 and final completion in fall 2026.

During construction, some temporary road closures or traffic impacts near the site may be necessary. We will provide advance notice of any disruptions. This page will be updated as necessary to keep the community informed about project progress.
